This is my sweet daughter Lillie. I took this photo yesterday in my back yard while she was mid-sentence (as she always is) using my 40D fitted with my Canon 50mm 1.4 lens. I then processed it with my own Lightroom preset: Warmest.
Photographing children is one of my favorite things to do… it helps that I’m just a big kid at heart with three kids of my own to entertain and finagle into allowing me to take their picture. When I’m working with children it’s always helpful if the parents allow me to get down to their level and interact with them with minimal interference. What I’d like to take away from every session are photographs that look casual, real and really portray the childs personality.
